The United Arab Emirates bookended our time in the Maldives in October 2024. On the way there, coming from Kenya, we spent a day on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. On the way home we stayed a night in the desert at Arabian Nights Village, went up the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and flew home from Dubai on October 28.

Yas Waterworld on the way to the Maldives, then a night at Arabian Nights Village in the desert, with quad buggies, camels, oud music and dancing, and the top of the Burj Khalifa on the way home.
